What is health and wellness coaching?
According to the International Consortium for Health and Wellness Coaching, Health and Wellness Coaches partner with clients seeking self-directed, lasting changes, aligned with their values, which promote health and wellness and, thereby, enhance well-being. In the course of their work health and wellness coaches display unconditional positive regard for their clients and a belief in their capacity for change, and honoring that each client is an expert on his or her life, while ensuring that all interactions are respectful and non-judgmental.
How is it different from going to a medical practitioner, dietitian, or mental health practitioner?
Health and Wellness Coaches do not diagnose or treat medical/mental health conditions. They also do not prescribe meal plans as Dietitians do.
Is coaching for individuals or can it be with groups or couples?
Coaching can be with individuals, groups or couples.
Do sessions have to be in person?
No. Sessions can be held over the phone or via video conferencing. This is an advantage for those with busy schedules or for long-distance individuals.
What packages do you have for Coaching?
We have 3 packages for coaching as well as individual Coaching sessions for clients who have already completed a program and would like to be coached as needed.
What are your fees?
Fees are listed here. Each session comes out to $55.00 when package is paid in full. Your first Discovery Session is Free.
What can i expect from seeing a health & Wellness coach?
Be ready to discuss chronic conditions, any medications or supplements you take, your eating habits, your current ailments and challenges, and your sleep and exercise patterns.
A coach will help you clarify your goals and break them down to smaller more doable steps. You may have a specific goal in mind (like dropping 10 pounds), but if not, that's OK. Simply wanting to get healthier is enough.
If your coach isn't already working directly with your health care providers, bring their contact info so she can reach out if necessary.
A coach might help you explore complementary therapies backed by science, like acupuncture and . Follow up with your doctor about any treatments you plan to pursue.
Most coaches offer an initial conversation for free. After that, expect to pay about $55 or more per session. Group coaching is commonly more affordable but individualized attention is compromised. The cost of coaching isn't typically covered by insurance, but you may be able to get reimbursed through your Flexible Spending Account.
What topics can be addressed during coaching?
Coaches understand that individuals' wellbeing is physically, mentally and spiritually interrelated. Topics can range from reducing and managing stress, to increasing physical activity or losing weight. Topics can also include having a better quality of life while living with chronic conditions as well as tobacco cessation.
Are there payment plans for coaching?
